Why is Accreditation necessary?

1. Benefits to consumers:

Industry Accreditation provides a way to identify SCA (Qld) Managers who have submitted themselves to a code of conduct and undertake continuing professional development, therefore creating security, trust, professionalism and recognition.

2. Benefits to the strata industry:

SCA accreditation enables SCA Managers to gain professional recognition, and thereby a competitive advantage, which can enhance their business, and help build a long-term career. Consequently, accreditation works to raise strata industry standards overall. Specifically, the SCA accreditation requirements ensure that SCA accredited Managers

•    are aware of relevant and current legislation
•    follow the specific requirements of legislation
•    adhere to best practice
•    adopt current procedures
•    commit to clerical excellence and
•    continually enhance their managerial and meeting chairmanship skills.

Each level of accreditation includes specific obligations for the member to undergo continuing professional development (CPD) to maintain their accreditation status.

How do I become accredited?

1. Complete the A100

One of the first steps towards becoming accredited with SCA (Qld) is the completion of our A100. Our A100 is a multi-day course and is a fully comprehensive course covering all of the essentials to starting a career in strata management. There are multiple ways you can complete the A100.

A100 - Introduction to living and working in strata (either face-to-face or virtual)

Our live A100 is held through two mediums, either face to face or virtual. Our live A100 gives all participants access to all course materials, assessments and presentations from our industry experts on the topics covered in the course. Find out our upcoming events here.

A100 online - Manual and Assessment

The A100 online is designed for managers who want to complete this course at their own pace. All registrants will receive a copy of our comprehensive A100 manual which provides all of the materials needed to complete the assessment. Purchase our A100 online here.

Fast track - Assessment only (available on demand through our education platform)

The Fast-Track is for members who already have adequate strata management experience and/or hold Cert IV in SCM or Property Services. This activity is an assessment only and no materials are provided by SCA (Qld). Purchase our fast track here.

2. Complete a Certificate IV in Strata Community Management

The Cert IV in Strata Community Management is a major focus in our Queensland Accreditation Pathway. We have partnered with the Australian College of Professionals to provide members with a Queensland specific course. This is a practical-based course and provides course participants with opportunities to acquire and practise new skills in all areas relating to strata management. Register for Certificate IV in Strata Community Management here.

Please be advised:

Australian College of Professionals are currently undertaking a review of the Cert IV in Strata Community Management for Qld. What does this mean? The full course is currently unavailable for enrollment, however there are selected modules that you can enroll in to further your career in Stata Management. Once the full course is open for enrolments, these modules will be recognised as credits for prior learnings.

SCA National is applying to become an RTO to deliver the Certificate IV in Strata Community Management. If you wish to wait for this course run by SCA, you can apply for temporary provisional accreditation.
