Enhance your home's charm with Taubmans®
Opting to paint a feature wall is a simple yet impactful way to elevate your space, making a lasting impression on your guests. It is a cost-effective way to express your style, refresh your space, and experiment with colours and patterns without overpowering the entire room and committing to a repaint of the larger space.
Choosing the right space
Begin by evaluating the room's layout and architectural features. Consider selecting an area to serve as a natural focal point, such as behind your sofa or bed, around fireplaces, or adjacent to bookcases. Enhance walls with intriguing angles, display artwork, accentuate furniture, or delineate zones in an open-plan setting.
Choosing the perfect colour & sheen
Selecting a colour may initially seem daunting and overwhelming, but rest assured, we're here to alleviate any concerns. Drawing upon our team of colour experts worldwide, Taubmans® has compiled valuable recommendations to simplify your colour selection journey. We are committed to ensuring that the colour you choose enhances your space, reflects your unique style, and creates a home that truly resonates with you.

Taubmans paints come in a variety of sheens. However, for an interior wall painting project, we recommend Low Sheen or Matt to minimise glare from high light reflection.
Want to be certain you love your chosen colour? Test it at home with a Taubmans tinted sample pot - it's the ideal way to confirm your colour choice before making a larger purchase.
Consider adding texture
Elevate your feature wall by incorporating texture through techniques such as panelling, wainscoting, or intricate patterns. Discover the myriad possibilities for feature walls below:

Time to elevate your space
Your checklist
Don't let the hassle of multiple trips to the store dampen the joy of painting. Our time-saving checklist ensures you gather all your project essentials in one go, making your paint journey a breeze and stress-free.
Prep paint: Taubmans® 3 in 1 Prep (if needed)
Topcoat paint: Taubmans® Endure
Sandpaper
Paint tray
Cleaning solution (mild soap and water work fine)
Painter's tape
Crack Filler
Screwdriver or paint can opener
Old rags or paper towels
Two steps to transform your space
STEP 1: Get your surface ready
Protect your surfaces by temporarily relocating anything at risk of paint splatter. Lay down drop sheets on the floors and over surfaces that cannot be relocated.
Use painter's tape to mask areas such as windows, trims, and doors.
Finish by giving the surface a light sanding in spots with imperfections to ensure a flawless smooth end result.
Taubmans tip: If painting previously painted surfaces or dark colours, we recommend priming your surface with Taubmans 3 in 1 Prep for accurate paint adhesion and colour results.
STEP 2: Now you've chosen your colour & Taubmans Endure, it's time to paint!
Use a quality cutting-in brush to paint the edges of the wall you are painting. We recommend using a 63mm Monarch® Moulding & Skirting brush.
Load your roller with paint and apply a coat to the remainder of the wall using a 10-12mm nap roller. We recommend using Monarch Walls & Ceilings Ultra Microfibre Roller Covers.
Let it dry, then apply a second coat. For best results, follow the instructions on the back of the can.
STEP 3:
Once dry, remove masking, drop sheets, put everything back in place, sit back and take in your new feature wall. Proudly remind yourself 'I DID THAT!'.
