President's Update - July

Updated: Oct 28, 2023

It has been a productive month for SCAQ’s Board. With a successful Golf Day completed and our annual Leadership Retreat on the horizon, our event offering continues to go from strength to strength. This month also saw the first ever “Lunch and Learn” Webinar delivered- this will be an exciting part of our educational offering.

The focus for the SCAQ Board has been on developing and refining our strategic plan and examining in great detail what we need to be collectively focused on. I encourage you to read my communication on the SCAQ 2023-2024 Strategy Launch. You can also read more about the 2023 -2026 SCAQ Strategic Plan here.

Our advocacy goals remain firm and we continue to work diligently in areas as diverse as building defects, dispute resolution, regulation of strata managers and insurance affordability and availability. The Board remains committed to holistic reform of our sector and is putting time, effort and resources towards this goal.

It is my goal as President to elevate our professionalism and public image, so we are recognised for the skills we bring as managers. We will be actively promoting ‘the what’ we bring to the table as a sector and the value a professional, accredited strata manager can bring to individual communities.

Strata is the property of the future, and we have so much to look forward to as the custodians of Queensland's communities of the future. I look forward to engaging with you and welcome your feedback as we walk forward in this exciting time in our industry.

If you have any questions or feedback please don't hesitate to contact me at president.qld@strata.community
